CEMETERY NOTICE

Notice of Changes: Effective January 1, 2024

  • 2024 Cemetery Committee Contacts:
  • Alisha Manuel (601) 497-9428 to ask about dues/existing plot reservations
  • Mike Hollis (601) 527-2959 to ask about new plot purchases & reservations


  • As of January 1, 2024 cemetery dues will increase to $30 per plot.
  • Cemetery dues will be for the maintenance and upkeep of the cemetery.

 

  • As of January 1, 2024 all fees for opening/closing of the graves will be the responsibility of the family. 
  • The cemetery fund will no longer be able to cover those fees.

 

  • Plot reservations are Free for Members of Remus Baptist Church.
  • If you are a member but do not have a plot reserved, please contact Mike Hollis to have one set up for you.

 

  • Plots for non-members may be purchased for $500.  Plot purchases made are non-refundable.  If plot purchases need to be made for immediate burial, the funeral home will not be allowed to open the grave until the plot is paid for in full.

 

  • If you have a plot reservation, DO NOT place your own markers. 
  • Please see Mike Hollis or David Ellingburg to make the arrangements for marker placement.

 

  • If plots are shared for cremation purposes, there is to be only ONE headstone/footstone per plot (not per person buried in the plot)

 

  • Cemetery caretaker is not responsible for flowers or memorabilia dislodged from graves. 
  • Please secure all items as firmly as possible and in a spot as to not be in the way of grass cutting/weed eating.
  • Please remove all trash from the cemetery.

Flour, Cornmeal, Grits/Oatmeal (regular or instant), Rice, Dried Beans, Sugar, Peanut Butter, Jelly, Crackers, Oil, Instant Potatoes, Spaghetti & Sauce, Powdered Milk, Canned Meats, Jello/Pudding Mix, Canned Soups, Canned Vegetables, Muffin Mixes, Applesauce, Canned Fruits, Jiffy Cornbread Mix, Mac-N-Cheese, Ramen Noodles


Volunteer:

Most of our workforce is comprised of volunteers. If you have a few free hours that you can dedicate to others, or a skill that can be shared, we will be happy to channel it in the right direction.
